I am interested in people and how we relate to each other and the world around us, and this motivates my work as a professional BACP accredited counsellor in Exeter.
From my own experience, and that of those I have worked with, I know that life itself throws up many challenges that get in the way of enjoying and living life to the full. I like being with people, sharing hope and coming alongside to find the ways through.
Exeter has been my home for a large part of my adult life and I love living in this part of Devon with all the beautiful open spaces of coast and countryside close by. I have worked for many years in local schools both as a School Counsellor as well as in several other roles supporting children and young people with autism or learning difficulties, behavioural difficulties and those from ethnic minority backgrounds. I also work as a volunteer counsellor in a local low-cost counselling service.
With my family I also lived and worked for several years in central and northern Spain, involved in an international drug rehabilitation organisation. I enjoy the outdoors, yoga, reading and art, and am interested in cultural diversity both around the world and locally here in Exeter. As part of my involvement with my local church I am the safeguarding officer.
