Supervision

Supervision for Therapists

What I offer in Supervision

If you are looking for a warm and friendly supervisor I may be able to help.

I offer supervision for counsellors, including counsellors in training. Having had many years of effective supervision myself which underpins my professional practice, I am keen to support and encourage others in this way too. As a supervisor my role is to support you and your clients in being safe, in working to high professional and ethical standards (using the BACP Ethical Framework) and to support you as an individual.

I provide supervision for counsellors working with adults, couples, young people and children.

I offer a supervision space that will support and enhance your practice, provide accountability and safety for your clients, give opportunity to explore insights and concerns you may come across in your practice or in an organisation you may be working with, and provide support for you as an individual where you can be honest, feel accepted, and flourish.

The relationship we develop as supervisor and supervisee is hugely important and so I aim to create a relationship that will be warm, accepting and affirming enabling you to be open and honest as we work together, and as we seek to bring out the best in you as well as in your work with clients. I am interested in you as an individual and your life beyond that of the client work, appreciating that our work is in the context of our whole lives and experiences, with all the complexity and challenge that brings, and I will give a priority to your own wellbeing. I enjoy the educational aspect of supervision and will encourage your learning and professional development through our collaborative work together.

I enjoy sharing the enthusiasm and experience of supervision with others who are new to the profession of counselling and to receiving supervision. I understand the difficulties, challenges and excitements that training can bring, and I will support you in your learning and development as you move from starting out as a beginner to becoming a confident and experienced practitioner.

My Experience

As an experienced integrative practitioner I enjoy working across a wide spectrum of humanistic therapeutic approaches, appreciating the richness and variety this can offer both therapist and client, and bring this into the way I offer supervision. I will support you as we explore different theoretical approaches and models for counselling to enhance your understanding of your practice.

I am experienced in working with adults as well as with children and young people, and enjoy the variety of working across all ages. I have a successful private practice working with adults, couples, children and young people as well as many years experience counselling in schools and other organisations. I have up to date training in safeguarding and child protection, and take my own ongoing commitment to CPD seriously as I am always keen to be developing my own knowledge and practice. Please have a look here for more information about my qualifications and training.

Professional Standards

The BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions provides the ethical framework and boundaries for my own practice, and as your supervisor I will support you in working to these or equivalent standards. I will also support you in your professional development, including for the rigours of working towards accreditation and other forms of qualification when you wish to do this.

Costs for Supervision

My fees for supervision are £60 for a 1 hour session / £85 for 1½ hours

I usually offer a free one hour introductory session so we can meet and then both decide if I will be able to provide you with the supervision you are looking for.

Please do get in touch with me with any questions you may have, or if you would like to arrange a first session. I look forward to hearing from you.
