I offer a welcoming, confidential and safe place if you are looking for help with difficulties in your life and need to speak to someone beyond your family, friends or work colleagues that you might usually talk to. I enjoy my work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and welcome the opportunity to work with you as you are and with whatever issue you might bring to counselling. I provide counselling in Exeter for adults, young people and children. I also provide EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) counselling, and mentoring for university students.
Thinking about having counselling is a big step and can take a lot of courage. I will listen to you with respect and without judgement, and provide a safe therapeutic relationship where together we can explore how you are thinking and feeling to enable you to make the changes you wish to make in your life or situation.
Counselling will help you understand yourself and your situation better, and give you the opportunity to take more control over how you react and cope with situations, to make changes, and to enable you to feel more resourced for the future.
As your counsellor I can help you find realistic ways forward with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety and stress, bereavement and loss, depression, self harm, suicidal thinking, trauma, abuse, relationship and family issues, cultural issues and racism, learning difficulties, difficulties in the workplace and with unemployment, and with the specific issues young people may be facing.
I am experienced in counselling people who have learning difficulties or disabilities, including autism, and will accommodate your needs to give you the best possible experience of counselling.
